  How to fix ‘card has wrong format’ error in sigma DP2s digital camera

Sigma DP2s is one among the widely used camera, with advanced set of features, most prominent being 14.45 mega pixel camera. Image processing engine and full color image sensor, yields easy and quality picture capture utility. The images can either be in RAW or JPEG format, stored on SD/SDHC card included in it. However, occurrence of any such unanticipated situation can at once wash all its utility, it actually seems impossible to recover inaccessible and missing pictures in any such situation, if backup is not available.

Unexpected problem takes place without prior information, so there may arrive a time when memory card from the camera is forcefully pulled out, while photos from it were being transferred to system. Inserting the card again into the camera, may show message as - “card has wrong format”. It means all saved pictures are now inaccessible; furthermore using the card in the camera is not possible until the error is fixed.

Messages as such, after which access to photos stored in SD card is lost are the result of corruption that has taken place. Improper usage of card, in this very situation abrupt card pull out while read write process was going on.

To fix ‘card has wrong format’ error and access stored file, following are the process to be implemented –

  1. Taking card out after camera is switched off and then reinserting
  2. Accessing SD card data by connecting camera to computer
  3. Using card reader to access corrupted card and retrieve data from it

However, if the error can’t be fixed this way and also the photos could not be obtained, you need to recover photos. Besides, that the card has to be formatted to fix the error encountered which in turn will make it usable once again. It supports different photos and video file format, along with all raw and jpeg photo recovery.
